Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 4 May

Full Moon at 18 Scorpio 41

TAURUS

Try not to let doubts about your worthiness or self worth issues cloud your relationships. This may be a good time for introspection and to voice those areas of discontent that if left alone can fester and grow.

GEMINI

Mercury goes retrograde Thursday afternoon for three and a half weeks so start tidying up any loose ends that have been left lying around. During this retrograde period it is a good time to study a contract but not to sign.

CANCER

Everything seems to get on top of you this week and blowing things out of proportion does not help. All you want to do is clear off and leave them to it. It’s times like this that making space for self is what is needed.

LEO

You are able to apply discipline and determination to any endeavours this week so knuckle down and get on with it. A lot can be accomplished and once you get your teeth into it this is what can be done.

VIRGO

You will need to draw on all your patience and persistence as Mercury retrogrades at the end of the week. Linking up with Pluto as well suggests a situation is uncertain and this creates problems.

LIBRA

Financial issues may come to a head this week and this could be a good thing. It is crisis like situations that force us to change, ridding ourselves of outmoded agendas in order to move on.

SCORPIO

This month’s Full Moon spans your solar first and seventh house focusing your attention on the role of others in your life and how they can contribute to your own well being or to the detriment of.

SAGITTARIUS

Things may get a little out of hand at the start of the week and you may need to step back a little and become more objective. You need to consciously act on the matter instead of instinctively reacting.

CAPRICORN

All your hard work and effort pays off as you receive the recognition you deserve. Don’t rest on your laurels though as those in high places are following any further and future results.

AQUARIUS

Heavy-handed action will only cause deep resentment and unrest. What is needed is a much more subtle and delicate assistance. This diplomacy bridges the impasse and compliance will follow.

PISCES

Very much concerned with the spiritual side of life yet you become concerned with your inability to explain to others the life beyond the physical or earthy.

ARIES

When the impulsive and energetic Mars teams up with the ever expansiveness of Jupiter we can generally predict a need for action. The energy can be excessive so don’t take on too much.

FULL MOON at 18 SCORPIO 41

The Full Moon on Saturday 9 May at 2.01pm AEST highlights the polarities of Scorpio and Taurus, Water and Earth. Taurus likes and is comfortable with the earthly and material pleasures of life, whereas Scorpio delves in the fathomless depths confronting energies and laws that transcend the material plane.

The combination of these two signs signals the need for a firmer sense of self, of re-establishing our connection to the greater energies from which we all draw nourishment. Jupiter ties himself into a planetary pattern called a fixed T Square with the opposing Moon and Sun indicating not only the need to look outside ourselves but also to assimilate what we have learnt and apply this understanding in our everyday lives.

We also have the symbolism of the retrograde Mercury, the need to turn inwards, with Pluto, co-ruler of Scorpio challenging us to let go of outmoded ideas, tolerate uncertainty and let go of those agendas that keep us locked into pre-arranged and pre-patterned lives and behaviour, one that precludes surprise or spontaneity.
