Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

Seeing Stars for the week beginning April 28, 2008

The Astrological Elements (Continued)

TAURUS

This week sees you feeling comfortable and self satisfied. Life is cruising along nicely thank you very much, if it weren’t for those irritating siblings who just won’t let well enough alone.

GEMINI

You are able to visualize the bigger picture and it is all becoming somewhat clearer but there is still that element of self-doubt and uncertainty. To clarify, gather your thoughts together and go over it all again in your own mind.

CANCER

Feeling restless and unsettled, impatient with loved ones. This will continue all week so put aside anything that needs a disciplined approach or requires concentrated effort. Normality returns next week.

LEO

With the Sun making its annual visit to your solar 10th house use the next few weeks to examine your life as a whole to see if you are heading in the direction that you want and achieving all that you planned.

VIRGO

Mercury, your ruler in earthy Taurus helps you ground your thoughts and put them into action this week. You are more receptive to the opinions of others so utilise any advice that is given.

LIBRA

Venus although still in your opposite sign of Aries is making some beneficial planetary aspects this week so utilise it to take the initiative and discuss any problems that have been lingering.

SCORPIO

Vacillation and inattentiveness causes unnecessary complexity this week. You find yourself too easily distracted, which causes you to scatter your energies. You may need to say no.

SAGITTARIUS

Make sure your enthusiasm and drive doesn’t see you over-extending yourself. You’re thinking pretty positively, which is not a bad thing as you are able to see the possibilities inherent in a situation.

CAPRICORN

Family relationships seem to be on the agenda so perhaps an understanding can be reached to becoming more open and tolerant of each other’s differences. This can change the whole family dynamics.

AQUARIUS

You may be disappointed this week from a group or people you associate with. Look to yourself if this is the case because it may be a matter of you expecting more than is possible.

PISCES

For want of prudence and foresight a situation may get out of control. It is no good blaming absent-mindedness, all that is needed is a little common sense applied before the event.

ARIES

The next few weeks should see you focusing on your personal finances and resources. It is time to see if the cheque book balances and if not why not. If this is sorted out over the next few weeks will save you some trouble later.

THE ASTROLOGICAL ELEMENTS (Continued)

Astrology promotes tolerance, because it can be used to build compatibility. It provides a tool to help us fathom and appreciate all signs, therefore all people. In today’s world it is easier to count the people who do not know their Sun sign than count those who do. By taking this Sun sign knowledge only one step further and including the element relevant to the sign allows us to “tune in” to others and find a line of communication. With this comes understanding, even with star signs that have a very different temperament and outlook.

Fire signs include Aries, Leo Sagittarius
Earth signs include Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Air signs include Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Water signs include Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Notice the order of the elements follow the order of the signs beginning with Aries/Fire; Taurus/Earth; Gemini/Air and Cancer/Water and then repeats Leo/Fire; Virgo/Earth.

Traditionally astrology has two groupings for the four elements of Fire, Earth, Air and Water. The elements of Fire and Air are perceived to be more active, masculine signs (yang) needing activity, action and movement. The Earth and Water signs are described as passive or feminine (yin) which are more naturally inclined to be more passive and reflective.

There are three signs per element and these signs are further delineated into three additional categories – cardinal, fixed, mutable or personal, interpersonal and transpersonal. This yields twelve distinct temperaments or outlooks.

To be continued …
