Seeing Stars for the month of October 2009

FULL MOON at 11 degrees ARIES 10 mins

OCTOBER SNAPSHOTS BY SIGN

LIBRA
Lot of planetary activity this month with not only the Sun in your sign but also Mercury planet of communication, Venus (love Goddess), Saturn (commitment, duty) ingresses at the end of the month and the New Moon. Not wanting to hurt others feelings may hold you back from telling the truth. Some may see this as a form of dishonesty particularly to self so it is important not to sacrifice honesty. Speaking from the heart does not offend.

SCORPIO
Bit of unfinished business ties you up at the start of the month and continues to cause frustrations causing tension to mount. Middle of the month has you frothing at the mouth and if care is not taken the resulting explosion will not be pretty. Channel the energy into something productive particularly towards the end of the month where even a legitimate complaint may cause conflict with those in authority.

SAGITTARIUS
If you have a mind put those positive feelings to good use and accomplish something good and useful. It is too easy to squander these feel good moments by laziness; just letting the days slip by. Jupiter goes direct on the 13th after 4 months of retrograde motion hopefully leaving you feel more purposeful and better able to separate yourself from those goals that have nothing to do with the needs of your spirit. No overnight solution.

CAPRICORN
With Saturn, he of responsibility squaring off to Pluto, Lord of the Underworld over the next few months it will do you no good resisting the energy of this transit so bunker down and try to view it with as much detachment as possible. The challenge is to allow old structures that are past their use by date to breakdown and be rebuilt so as to advance you forward not keep you stuck in the past. A lot easier for some than others. Reorganise.

AQUARIUS
You’ve heard the saying ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ well you may be very tempted to do just that. The over emphasis on someone’s appearance makes you underestimate and devalue a very important contribution. This lack of perspective can have you under or over estimating others your own appearance.

PISCES
You can no longer afford to procrastinate, a crossroad has been reached and you need to move in one direction or the other. Neither path has all the answers so weighing up the pros and cons is essential when making your choice. Don’t let fear or uncertainty hold your back, so too clinging to old behaviour patterns that have you needing what is safe and familiar.

ARIES
Start of the month motivation levels are low and has you feeling hamstringed, unable to fully commit in any direct. Any project implemented in such a halfhearted manner is doomed to failure. Fortunately things improve as the month progresses and you are able to shake off the lethargy particularly when Mars the action planet finally moves into the fiery Leo on the 17th. A reminder your way is not necessarily the right way.

TAURUS
What can is say if you continue with the self flagellation your self esteem may never recover. Whilst it is good to acknowledge ones flaws and faults it does no good to dwell on them to the exclusion of everything else. You may be alienating a loved one who only sees the lack of warmth and affection and does not realise that you are reflecting on the state of your life. Open up and talk about those doubts.

GEMINI
Mercury has finally gone direct but at least it gave you a chance to get your house in order and if not do it now for on the 10th it goes into friendly Libra and you will not be wanting to spend your time or be confined to the home. The urge will be to socialise and there is nothing you like better than flitting from one engagement to another. Team work will helps release your creative juices and a relationship soothes your soul.

CANCER
Mars moves from your sign mid month after a 6/7-week stay and settles into the financial sector of your horoscope. This indicates a period of monetary concerns and matters and also a time of identifying with what you have in regards to possessions. You may indeed believe that the bigger or flashier something is the better it will be. This time can also be use to establish those values that you deem important.

LEO
It’s not that things have got on top of you but rather a feeling that whatever you have reached out to do has either gone wrong or is wrong. Confrontations have been based on an emotional response and because of this others have been less than honest with you afraid of or trying to avoid a situation. You do not lack courage but acts of bullying or bravado serve no purpose and have no place in the heart of the lion.

VIRGO
Self-recrimination can only go so far and for so long before it turns into a victim like attitude. It can also cause nervousness and upsets to the digestive system. Instead of accentuating flaws how about redirecting the energy into something more useful like solving problems. Thankfully midmonth sees a more optimistic approach with many more opportunities and solutions.

COSMOS

MERCURY
Besides the 29 year event of Saturn’s ingress into Libra as mention with the New Moon we also see on 29th September Mercury going direct after spending three weeks in a retrograde movement. Hopefully you have spent this time on reflection, sorting through files and catching up on all that paper work. In Virgo till the 10th (and rulership) the planning, analyzing and ability to think of practicalities is emphasised. Try not to make on the spot decisions but work through in a logical manner. Entering the peace loving sign of Libra on Sat 10th you may find it difficult to reach any decision at all, vacillating and wanting to keep the peace. A good time for team work as long as you don’t over estimate your abilities and moving in to trine the optimistic Jupiter for a week from the 18th a wealth of ideas founded on sound common sense. End of the month has Mercury moving into the more passionate and intense Scorpio where it is hard to be objective.

VENUS
Venus in Virgo is all about practical considerations particularly when holding hands with Saturn and Mercury. The opposition to Uranus exact on Saturday 10th may cause you to scatter your energies so avoid moving in haste around this time. Thursday 15th moves into her home base of Libra so plan for plenty of social engagements and activities. End of the month trines the expansive Jupiter which without the breaks of the retrograde motion gives the attribute of popularity.

MARS
Our God of war and action, has had his spirits dampened in domesticated Cancer, leaving us prone to moodiness and irritability, the link up with unpredictable Uranus for two weeks sparks some life back into us particularly as there is a change of sign into the fiery Leo on the 17th. By the 20th we need to avoid being impulsive and towards the end of the month the square to the Sun in Scorpio may see a few ego conflicts. Energy levels are high so impatience may be a problem.

SUN
The Sun moves into Scorpio on the 23rd October so any insights gained about people that occurred whilst the Sun was in Libra will now be tested and deepened in Scorpio if there is a sharing of common values otherwise the lack of any substance may cause it to be eliminated.

This Full Moon on 4th October at 5:10pm (AEDT) brings into play the dynamics concerned with individuality and cooperation. With Aries/Libra polarities we have the conflict of how much do we need to express ourselves, and our own desires and how much do we need to conform or negotiate in order to get along with others. We know that ‘no man is an island’ and that ‘many hands make light work’ but how much can we truly express ourselves if there is a constant evaluation going on about how much our own actions impact on others.

There is no better example than what earth is experiencing now with Global Warming. The repercussions of the indiscriminate polluting of our land and atmosphere, with no thought for tomorrow, the future or indeed our next generation has left us all in dire straights.

We also see how excessive remuneration from individual firms in the financial sector has been blamed for triggering the financial crisis. We have the forming of the G20 as the leading forum for economic co-operation where the financial system is reformed towards a more balanced global economy. This is taking a globally co-coordinated effort.

This months Full Moon incorporates the age-old enemies of Saturn who clings to the past with its structure and tradition, and also the futuristic Uranus rebelling against all that has gone before, challenging the rigid structures and looking for change and reform.

Throw into this mix the exact YOD formation of Mercury, Mars and Neptune. Now a YOD is an indicator of a cosmic turning point our life can suddenly take unexpected turns due to specific events. This is generally precipitated by a problem that we have been ignoring or remains unsolved and weoften seem to have to make impossible choices, or even choose between two evils. Perhaps there is something in our lives that is out of focus with the realities of current circumstances and thus need greater structure and definition. Be Bold and try something new or a different approach is the encouragement from this Aries Full Moon
Sabian Symbol for 12 Aries
A triangularly shaped flight of wild geese – an idealistic reliance upon a mental image of universal order.

12 degrees Libra
Miners are surfacing from a deep coal mine –the need to carry on at ever deeper levels the quest for knowledge, which keeps burning the fires of the collective mind of a society

NEW MOON at 24 degrees LIBRA 59

This New Moon at 4:33pm AEDT on Sunday 18th October is a very fruitful and potent sign for new beginnings particularly in the area of relationships and partnerships. Seeds planted now whether it be a new relationship or breathing life into an existing partnership can yield some very positive results. If things have not been going well use the impetus of this New Moon to effectively renegotiate a situation that has a win-win outcome. Work together to achieve a goal or find a solution that is mutually beneficial.

The Sun/Moon conjunction forms a dynamic pattern called a T Square with the Nodal Axis, points in the horoscope indicative of soul and collective growth. Here we are struggling between being pulled back into the past and the dependency on family and feelings/ fears of insecurity and rejection, towards a more disciplined and mature approach that maintains healthy boundaries.

Saturn up close and personal to Venus (love and beauty) places emphasis on recognising and dealing with the harsh realities within your relationship and you can be sure that by dealing with what may be a testing and tough time will only strengthen the bonds between you or highlight irreconcilable differences. There is always a choice.

Saturn returns to Libra at the end of October where he has not visited for 29 years and remains till 2012. Libra represents the striving for equality, aesthetics, and the seeking of perspective whilst Saturn is father time, law and order and represents government. From 1980 to 1983 the last period of Saturn in Libra we saw the death of two former Prime Ministers John McEwen (18th) and Frank Forde (15th); in Victoria the decriminalising of Homosexual acts between consenting adults; Queen Elizabeth 11 opens the new building of the National Gallery in Canberra; Malcolm Fraser re-elected for the third time with halved majority; Malcolm Fraser granted a double dissolution of both houses and for the election – on the same day Bob Hawke replaces Bill Hayden as federal ALP leader: Ash Wednesday bushfires which killed 71 lives; Bob Hawke winning Federal Election with biggest parliamentary majority in history; Valery Ivanov, Soviet Embassy Official evicted from Australia for allegedly trying to recruit spies from our government.

Saturn in Libra represents team work and equal rights both on an individual level and a global level servicing the best interests of all. It demands that we develop/ implement and gain perspective and objectivity and a willingness to cooperate or mediate.

Sabian Symbol for 25 Libra
The sight of an autumn leaf brings to a pilgrim the sudden revelation of the mystery of life and death – the ability to discover in every experience a transcendent or cosmic meaning.
