SMARTPAGES
by Andrew Connery

Want to be in Google’s Top 10?

Here’s an update on progress with SMARTPAGES PPK’s launch locally and some case studies showcasing the features, which are proving very attractive to savvy marketers

SMARTPAGES PPK the brand new ‘Pay Per Keyword’ performance advertising tool is starting to make an impact on how local businesses can promote themselves online without the benefit of having a massive budget to play with.

For starters, the pricing:

Basically it’s $99 per set of keywords per month (incl GST) for smallish campaigns, say less than five keywords, running in a single community such as Wollongong, Sutherland, Parramatta or Newcastle. To cover the whole Sydney market is more expensive.

SMARTPAGES has a number of PPK trial campaigns now running in Wollongong for clients including Barnetts Couriers, Dawson Lawyers, Specsavers and PCL Money, with three more currently being uploaded for other locally based clients.

We are now regularly pricing 30 – 60 word campaigns. They usually work out, with bulk discounts, to less than $1.00 per day per set of Keywords including GST.

For example, a 60-word campaign covering every product/service in an industry plus the keyword ‘community’ works out at about $2,000 per month, and for 100 keywords, about $3,000 per month.

N.B. All keywords are hyperlinked directly to the relevant page on the client’s website – with a 3-month minimum campaign paid in advance.

It is pleasing to report that 100% of all keywords indexed to date are appearing in Google’s Top 10 when used in conjunction with keyword ‘Wollongong’ and with our very first campaign – PCL Money – we achieved a No.1 and No.3 Page 1 plus two No.3s Page 2 on Google SERP (Search Engine Results Page) for a 4-word campaign when searching on the web, WITHOUT adding the ‘Wollongong’ keyword – a major bonus for the client.

Note, the keywords used were very specific and have industry relevance, e.g. ‘Tax Driven Car Leases’ and ‘Leasing for Professionals’ but they are still great examples of what is now commonly called Long Tail marketing.

The results of our latest PPK campaign for Specsavers Shellharbour were even better, briefly:

• ‘Glasses Wollongong’ No.3 Page 1 Google SERP

• ‘Sun Glasses Wollongong’ No.5 Page 1 Google SERP plus Indent

• ‘Designer Glasses Wollongong’ No.1 Page 1 Google SERP plus Indent

• ‘Eye Care Wollongong’ No.2 Page 1 Google SERP

• ‘Contact Lenses Wollongong’ No.1 Page 1 Google SERP plus Indent

• ‘Lenses Wollongong’ No.2 Page 1 Google SERP

• ‘Optometrist Wollongong’ No.5 Page 1 Google SERP

• ‘Optometrists Wollongong’ No.10 Page 1 Google SERP

i.e. all on Page 1 of Google SERPs – most at or near the top

For Eye & Eyes (the most popular keywords in Eye Care category) used with keywords: Shellharbour, Shellharbour Square, Stockland Shellharbour and Shellharbour Shopping Centre - all were top of Page 1 either first or second spot.

NO RESULT … NO PAY

SMARTPAGES now guarantees if selected keywords do not rank in Google’s Top 10, clients are not billed for further quarterly instalments AND if they don’t qualify in 9 months the initial deposit is refunded (pro rata).
