The New Moon is a time that promotes all forms of growth. On a mundane level for instance if you want your hair to grow more quickly and fully have it cut on the day of a New Moon (make sure of time). On the other hand if you were having a wax or laser treatment to inhibit hair growth then you would do it on or after a Full Moon.
Timing is everything and it is at a New Moon that strong new beginnings are more fruitful. In Cancer, the first of the water signs we see the maternal, nurturing and protective side of our nature enhanced. This New Moon also brings with it Venus, Goddess of Love and opposes Jupiter in Capricorn, planet of growth and consciousness. This indicates how our personal, family or domestic relationships may be further enhanced by incorporating not only self-responsibility but also responsibility to our wider community.
